They could improve the scheduling. Some of the girls will come in, work one day, and quit, but they don't call and let me know. I also have to have caregivers to take me to my doctor's appointment. Most of my girls are pretty good, but once in a while, I will get someone that is not as good. I let them know when that happens. Some of them aren't trained and don't know how to take blood pressure.

There are some caregivers that sit and read or sit on their phone when caring for the client. With a different agency, they used to have a notebook that listed how the day went. This would help the next person. I am told they use an app, but I would like to know if the caregivers are actually using the app. He needs the care and isn't able to walk around or do things for himself. The services allow him to be in his apartment. I am not sure if he is getting the right care because things don't look like things are being done when I go over there myself.

I am highly likely to recommend New Horizons to care for your loved ones. I like that we have been pretty fortunate with our caregivers. We had a few that come and go. We have had a couple of caregivers that have been around for a year and that has been nice to have that consistency. It is very good because I am able to just worry about errands and chores and not have to worry about safety or comfort level. I know he is in good hands.

I was given a 30-day notice that they are no longer going to care for me due to a misunderstanding with one of the caregivers. Nobody from HR has contacted me to see what they could do to make things better, they initially told me it was an open case, but no one has contacted me about being able to continue the services. I had to ask if I am being terminated, but the caseworker that came here said she didn't know anything about the letter of notice of termination. I have had caregivers in the past that worked with me, and they sent me new caregivers that don't know how to work with a quadriplegic and I have to train the caregiver. I am a complex client, I am in need of care. It's hard work, I have been training all the caregivers that have come here. I keep getting different caregivers that I have to keep training them, which is not convenient or helpful for me.
