Claudia came out and met with my mom and I gave her a checklist of things I was wanting to do. I wanted to make sure she had someone to fit that. She worked with my schedule and there was a meeting at an aging center that she suggested I attend because it was about fall risk. The agency has made suggestions on what I could do to help my mother, and they're helping, I appreciate that.

It is a little more expensive than I have wanted to use. They usually send a seasoned person in the morning and a new person in the afternoons. I have been more pleased with the seasoned people. I needed somebody and the most helpful has been that they are able to fix me breakfast. They are able to warm up frozen foods that my son-in-law cooked for me.

I realize when we first sign up and caregivers only come a few hours a day instead of the long term, long shift care; that kind of care gets more attentive caregivers, so there were several caregivers that wouldn't do anything unless they were asked. One caregiver was outstanding because she would engage with her. She would see things around the house and get up and do it without being asked. They help with cooking, dressing, and showering.

If they can find the right people, it works really well. If you can't, they try to get you the right people. They cook for me, they clean up the kitchen and my bathroom, and they change my sheets. There are a lot of things they do for me. They help me in the shower.

We had several visiting angels that never showed up, and some that did show up seemed more interested in their phones. Many of the angels that came over had colds, which we cannot afford to get. Some angels that did come were very experienced and mature. The caregivers helped my wife get dressed, get out of bed in the morning, which was essential.
