I would like them to improve on their communication amongst each other. My mother has five caregivers and some of them don't communicate with each other because they don't get along well. They need to leave information so that the other caregivers know what is going on. Some caregivers just cook stove top things. They never put anything in the oven. They just make boxed dinners. They have a policy where the caregivers do light housekeeping. My mom is bed ridden so who is going to do the heavy cleaning? I help her with the laundry, food, and groceries, but they are supposed to be doing that. I feel like I am doing their jobs.

I am grateful for all of them. I need the company and conversations. They could train the incoming HRA home attendants to actually know how to deal with patients in wheelchairs or are bed bound. The caregivers should know how to manipulate a wheelchair outside. They should try to be as compassionate to the clients as possible. Some caregivers are blunt and let me know they thought I was going to be laying in bed and that they weren't going to have to push someone in a wheelchair.
