When we first got them I explained that they are mostly going to be doing companionship and not as much other things but I would like the caregiver to do a little more when she comes to help me out. Some things are a hit and miss. I could use more sweeping and mopping floors which she does sometimes. There are times when I come home and there are things in the sink that could be washed and put away. If she could just be a little more proactive along those lines that would be better. There is no supervision and no one checking on the situation so the worker is at her own discursion. She gives good care and is reliable though and I appreciate that.

If somebody has to call off, they call the office and the office calls us so we know it's a legit reason. we have had other private people that call us at the last minute or don't call and we sit there wondering where they are. This agency doesn't put up with that. They have been able to get a replacement for people for various reasons. One girl came the first time but would not provide service so she left and we were stuck. I had to take care of my roommate as much as I could. It was nit a nice situation but they were very good at trying to find somebody else right away to find someone to fill that role. We understand people have lives and they have to make changes, but they have to be able to report to somebody and give to people as much as they can to make that a workable situation.
