Our situation was kind of an emergency, and we had three people and two of them were very kind, one was totally inappropriate for Josh, and I think there should have been better matching for him. She just didn't seem to want to take the lead in changing him or changing the bed. I was wanting help, and she said, "Is he kind of slow?" and it was just a slap in the face. They helped me the most by helping me change him. He got very heavy, and I just couldn't get the diapers by myself.

I was supposed to get more hours. The girls have even come with their schedule for 5 days a week, but I am only getting one day a week, and it is not even close to enough. I am supposed to have somebody permanent. With my mental issues that I have, I get attached to people, and we get really close, then they take them away and send me to someone else. It's like torturing me. I need to have more steady care in terms of a person, not a new person every week or every two weeks. My caregivers have had a positive impact because I am not so lonely, and they help me take care of stuff I can't do. There's just not enough time. There's just so much to do, and one day is just not enough. The caregivers are all great, and they do just about anything I need them to.

It would depend on what care they needed. The people in the office dont seem to understand the condition of the workers in the home have. They keep sending my aide to people who obviously need to be in a facility because they are very heavy and one person can't lift them. If they have a shift that is 2 or 3 hours and they want anyone to take that. If they have to drive from one county to the other side. They should make a greater effort to send people close to where they live so they don't spend on their pay. I only have an aide one day a week and they only do light housekeeping. The reason I have an aide is that my back will not do, like vacuum and mopping. They are the only people cleaning, and just dusting doesn't do it. I do expect them to clean off the window seals and wipe down switches and door knobs, and I do expect them to mop in the corners and not just the middle.

Sometimes the service is great, and sometimes it's not, especially when the person who comes calls in sick, they can never find me, someone, to help me on those days. They don't have the staff to come in. I would say better communication, that no matter who calls they are all on the same page because they don't know what's happening half the time. I am personally in a situation where I need more help, so I know they have trouble finding skilled workers, but I need more than someone who just graduated from high school. I need someone who knows what they're doing.

I appreciate the caseworker and the people I have talked with. The staff have been really nice. It has been pretty good for the most part. So with the service provided, we follow the plan, by the caseworker. We also communicate well. The caregivers are where the issue, or problem, is. There have been some cases where the 2 caregivers actually needed to be removed.

They should actually train the caregivers and clean the dishes and not leave dishes for the client. They need to step up. The caregivers will complain of how bored they are, but not do anything proactive. They should know how to do things before they arrive.
